First Aid Courses

First Aid is an essential life skill that is useful to all, whether you are at home with your family, at work, on the sports field or out in public. Having the skills and knowledge, as well as the confidence to use them should you find yourself in such a situation can have a huge and lasting impact.

These are the regulated courses which we offer that can be essential in many workplaces as required qualifications. However, we can also tailor a bespoke course to meet your needs and specific requirements.

Activity First Aid

Level 3 Award (RQF) – 2 Day Course

This Level 3 qualification is made up of two units including First Aid Essentials. It is specifically designed for those who are involved in any form of activity, including sports, leisure and recreation.

Annual Refresher

3 Hour Course

Although it is not mandatory, the HSE strongly recommend that HSE qualified First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders undertake an annual refresher course in order to keep their skills up-to-date and refreshed.

Appointed Person

2 Hour Course

Where an employer’s assessment of First Aid needs identifies that a First Aider or Emergency First Aider is not necessary, the minimum requirement on an employer is to appoint a person to take charge of the First Aid arrangements, including looking after equipment and facilities, and calling the emergency services when required.

Basic Life Support

3 Hour Course

This is a short course in Basic Life Support and is ideal for those looking to gain basic first aid knowledge and skills. The aim of the course is to enable all students to deal with an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally, and how to deal with an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally.

Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an AED

Level 2 Award (RQF) – 4 hours

Heart and circulatory disease claims around 200,000 lives each year. Many could have been saved if a defibrillator was made available.

CPR and AED

Level 2 Award (RQF) – 1 Day Course

Emergency First Aid at Work

Level 3 Award (RQF) – 1 Day Course

Where an organisation’s risk assessment of First Aid needs identifies that there is a requirement for Emergency First Aid at Work practitioners, then this national Award in Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid – the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

Emergency Paediatric First Aid

Level 3 Award (RQF) – 1 Day Course

The qualification is designed for learners with a responsibility for the care of children and babies and provides knowledge and skills to deal with a range of Paediatric first aid conditions and incidents.

First Aid at Work Requalification

Level 3 Award (RQF) – 2 Day Requalification Course

This 2-day First Aid at Work course is designed for those who currently hold a First Aid at Work qualification and are due to expire.

First Aid at Work

Level 3 Award (RQF) – 3 Day Course

It is a requirement of the Health & Safety law that employers provide a safe and healthy environment to work in. If your assessment of first aid needs highlights the need for qualified first aiders, then this level 3 qualification (level 6 in Scotland) will provide you with suitable, highly trained personnel.

First Aid Risk Assessment

Level 2 Award (RQF) – 1 Day Course

The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and trained personnel, to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work.

Immediate Management of Anaphylaxis

Level 3 Award (RQF) – 1 Day Course

An Anaphylactic shock, or anaphylaxis, is a life-threatening, serious allergic reaction to an allergen such as food substances or insect stings. If it is not treated appropriately, it may cause death. This training is for qualified First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders to enable them to recognize and treat anaphylaxis safely and effectively.

Oxygen Therapy Administration

Level 3 Award (RQF) – 1 Day Course

This training enables users to administer oxygen safely and effectively, for casualties with breathing difficulties. Delegates will learn how and when to administer oxygen to a casualty and the safety concerns with carrying, storing and administering it.

Paediatric First Aid

Level 3 Award (RQF) – 2 Day Course

The qualification is designed for learners with a responsibility for the care of children and babies on a professional level. The purpose of the qualification is for the learner to attain the knowledge and practical competence required to deal with a range of Paediatric first aid situations.
