First Aid for Mental Health

This 1-Day course provides learners with the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions, the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost a person towards professional health. It also covers the effects of drugs and alcohol, the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan and highlights ways in which a positive mental health culture can be supported within a workplace.

A range of First Aid for Mental Health related subjects are covered including:

• What is First Aid for Mental Health? • Identifying mental health conditions

• Providing advice and starting a conversation • Stress • Mental health conditions • Drugs and alcohol • First Aid for Mental Health action plan • First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace


Assessment & Certification

This is a fully accredited course and successful candidates will receive a regulated Level 2 (RQF) qualification, not just a certificate of attendance. Candidates must be a minimum of 14 years of age to achieve accreditation. A range of assessment methods are used, including practical and questioning (open and multiple-choice).

This qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement.

Cost of the Course

The cost of the course is £75 per person. 

This includes certification, a course book, lunch and refreshments.
